Place Cell based Components from Components Center

Make sure the Components Center option is enabled in the Options > Components Center dialog.

This procedure details how to place cell based components from the Component Center.

Open the Equipment Manager.
In the Place Equipment tab enable the Components Center option.
From the drop down list next to the Component Center option select from the following options:
- My Organization - Will display content from the catalogs specific to your organization which have been uploaded to the Component Center.
- Bentley Systems - Display content from the standard Bentley equipment catalogs.
Select the type of component to place from the drop down list.
You can change the User Defined attributes (UDAs) by selecting a value from the drop list or entering a value directly into the field where allowed.

The UDAs which display for a given category of components in the Equipment Manager come from the ComponentsCenterUDA.xml file stored in the WorkSpace dataset folder like the example below:
..\Workspaces\BRCM Imperial Example\Standards\BRCM\std_dataset\equipment

The Components Center Category maps to the Descr property in the Equipment Manager.
When the UDAs have been defined click OK to place the component using the standard component placement workflow.
